David Shadovitz

David Shadovitz has served as editor of Human Resource Executive® since its founding in 1987. During his 32-year career in publishing, David has received accolades from numerous publishing organizations, including multiple awards in the American Business Media’s Jessie H. Neal competition and the American Society of Business Press Editors’ Azbee competition. David has also received one of the highest honors in the HR profession, being named a Fellow to the National Academy of Human Resources in 1995.

The NAHR was founded in 1992 to honor individuals for their professional achievement by electing them as Fellows. Today, the Academy includes many of the profession’s most respected practitioners, academicians and consultants. It also recognizes institutions for their contributions to the profession.

David remains the only editor/journalist to be named a Fellow of the Academy.

To quote from remarks made during David’s induction, “[David] has made significant contributions to the growth and shape of the human resource field, helping establish HR as a crucial business function in corporate America. … Many policies and programs that have become standard procedure in HR today were first explored by [him] in the pages of his magazine.” The Academy also noted the vital role David played “in expanding the recognition of human resource leaders and the contributions they have made to the field.”
